Tell IT before you move so your computer, phone, and network connection work in your new location.
Before you move
Submit a ticket at least 5 business days before your move date. Include:
- Your name, extension, and move date.
- Your current location and your new location (building, floor, room or cubicle number).
- Your equipment: computer, monitors, dock, desk phone, printer, scanner, or other devices.
- For a group or department move, a list of everyone moving and where each person is going.
What you can move yourself
- Your laptop, charger, and personal accessories.
- Label your cables and equipment with your name before the move.
What IT handles
- Desktop computers, monitors, and docks.
- Moving your desk phone and extension.
- Turning on the network port (wall jack) at your new desk.
- Printers, scanners, and label printers.
After you move
If your computer has no network connection or your phone doesn't work at the new desk, the wall jack may not be active yet. Submit a ticket with the room number and the jack number (printed on the wall plate).
