CrowdStrike is the county's security software. It can send you an alert when it detects a risk with your account, such as a weak, reused, or exposed password. The usual fix is to change your password.
What to do
- Don't click links in the alert if you're unsure the email is genuine.
- Change your password yourself: press Ctrl + Alt + Delete > Change a password, or go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com by typing it into your browser.
- Choose a new password you haven't used anywhere else, including personal accounts.
- Sign in again with the new password on your county phone (Outlook and Teams).
When to contact the Help Desk
- You didn't change your password recently, and you receive an alert about unusual sign-in activity.
- You received a Microsoft Authenticator request you didn't start.
- You're asked to take an action you don't understand.
Important: A pop-up or notification from the CrowdStrike Falcon sensor on your computer means the security software is doing its job. Don't try to close or uninstall it. If it's blocking something you need for work, contact the Help Desk.
