NCID is the State of North Carolina's sign-in for state systems like NC FAST, NCIR, NCTracks and Path NC. It's managed separately from your county password.
Forgot your NCID password or locked out
- Go to https://ncid.nc.gov.
- Select Forgot your password? (or Unlock account) and follow the steps. You'll answer your security questions or verify by email/phone.
- Wait a few minutes after resetting before signing in to NC FAST or NCIR.
If self-service doesn't work
Your account may need to be unlocked, re-enabled, or reset by an NCID administrator. Submit a ticket and IT will route it to your department's NCID administrator.
NC FAST or NCIR problems after you're signed in
- Try a different browser (Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome), or clear your browser cache (see A website isn't loading or looks wrong).
- If you get an error, take a screenshot. Program-specific issues (queues, case actions, "action blocked" messages) are often handled by the state's help desk or your department's program lead.
Important: Never put Social Security numbers or client information in a ticket or chat. Use a case number or client ID instead.
