You can work with Teams and SharePoint files from File Explorer, just like files on your computer. Here's how to set that up and fix broken links.
Show Teams or SharePoint files in File Explorer
- In Teams, open the channel and select the Files tab, then select Open in SharePoint. Or open the SharePoint site in your browser.
- Go to the library or folder you want.
- Select Add shortcut to My files (recommended), or Sync.
- Open File Explorer. The files appear under your county OneDrive folder (shortcut), or under the county name in the left pane (sync).
A synced SharePoint folder disappeared from File Explorer
- Click the blue OneDrive cloud icon near the clock and make sure you're signed in and syncing isn't paused.
- If the folder is still missing, repeat the steps above to add it again.
- If you no longer have access to the site, you'll need to request it (see below).
A SharePoint link isn't working
- "You need permission" or "Access denied": Select Request access on that page. The site owner is notified.
- "This item might not exist": The file may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. Ask the person who shared it for a new link.
- Old links stopped working: If a site or library was reorganized, links to its files may have changed. Ask the site owner for updated links.
- Try opening the link in a private browser window (Ctrl + Shift + N) to rule out a browser problem.
