IT provides loaner laptops for short-term needs and replaces computers based on age and condition.
Request a loaner laptop
Submit a ticket at https://unioncountyit.zendesk.gov/hc/requests/new at least 3 business days before you need it. Include:
- Who will use it (for an intern or temporary worker, confirm their account has been set up).
- The start and end dates you need it.
- What they need to do (for example, which applications, printers, or shared drives).
- Your supervisor's approval.
Return loaners to IT by the end date. Save any files to OneDrive or a shared drive first, because loaners are wiped when they're returned.
My computer is old or needs replacing
- IT replaces computers on a schedule based on age. If your computer is scheduled, IT will contact you to set a time.
- If your computer is damaged, very slow, or failing now, submit a ticket describing the problem. IT will repair or replace it.
- Want to know when your computer is due? Submit a ticket with your computer name.
Getting ready for a replacement
- Save your files to OneDrive, SharePoint, or a shared drive. Files saved only on the old computer may not be moved.
- Make a list of the programs, printers, and shortcuts you use.
- Save your browser favorites: sign in to Microsoft Edge with your county account so they sync.
