How do I install software on my computer?

Approved software can be installed on your own using Software Center. For software that isn't listed, submit a request.

Install from Software Center

1. Press the Windows key, type Software Center, and open it.
2. Select Applications, then find the program you need.
3. Select it and select Install.
4. Wait for it to finish. Some programs will ask you to restart.

The software isn't in Software Center

Submit a ticket at https://unioncountyit.zendesk.gov/hc/requests/new with the software name, what you need it for, a link to the vendor's website, and your supervisor's approval. Some software needs a security review or a purchased license before it can be installed.

Important: For security reasons, you can't install programs or browser extensions from the internet yourself. Contact IT instead.
